Material covered over the weekend ‘Introduction to the Enneagram’ course:
Course 1- Discovering your Type
This course covers a brief history of the Enneagram and an introduction to the nine types, with their chief features, characteristics, default thinking and behaviour. We will discuss the places where each type goes to in stress and security. A table with brief descriptions of the types and an Enneagram diagram will be supplied.
Before taking this course if you do not already have an understanding of your likely Enneagram type we would recommend you take an online test. Tests you might consider are The Essential Enneagram Test (costing $10) or the Riso-Hudson Enneagram Type Indicator (costing $12).
Course 2 – Subtypes
This is an opportunity for the individual to confirm their Enneagram type and discuss their experiences of learning about their type, in other words, ‘share their story’. There is more time to learn about the wings and the places where each type goes to in stress and security and we will introduce the concept of the subtypes, another set of behaviours we use as coping strategies. Support information explaining subtypes will be supplied, along with a table containing concise details about each Enneagram type’s subtypes.
